–adjective
feeling or expressing gratitude; appreciative.
Where to begin? Yesterday was my first Thanksgiving since 2007 and it really hit home how grateful I am for everyone and everything that’s gotten me to where I am today. I realize that given the fact I’m living in my parents basement and recently divorced, many may raise an eyebrow at that statement, but it’s true.
2010 has been leaps and bounds better than 2009 and I’m putting a lot of pressure on 2011 to… well… go to eleven.
A few things I’m thankful for, in no particular order:
my very supportive parents (okay, I intended for them to come first)
my parents’ house
having an oven
cheese
being employed
Owen
my online friends & the family we’ve created that stretches over continents
my real life friends, even if I never see you
Ranch dressing
winter
fall
my car
my writing
my new boots (thank you Erica for pressuring me into buying them)
new friends
pizza with sauce
normal levels of humidity
not being afraid of a nearby machine gun accidentally going off
not being afraid of my neighbors accidentally shooting my house
not being afraid that Owen will get a disease from a stray dog
not being afraid that Owen will get snatched when I’m not looking
not being afraid that I will be snatched when I’m not looking
(okay, that requires a moment of reflection)
being near enough to my family that I can see them whenever I want
my grandmother’s health
my friends’ literary success
an endless supply of books
There are many many more, but I have to stop someplace.
Please share what you’re thankful for this year in the comments.
Hope you had a great day and it continues on for a Merry Christmas and blessed New Year.
Thank you Travis. To you as well.
I’m thankful that you’re home and safe and happy, Melanie! I’m hoping for 2011 to be an eleven, too.
Hugs,
Natasha 🙂
Thanks Natasha. Here’s hoping for you too!
I’m thankful I know a Hoo.
You never fail to make my own clumsiness seem trivial. 😉
Adam
I do my best… 🙂
I’m thankful that you still have your sense of humor after going through all that. It’s so much fun reading your blog.
