Please help me give a big Hoosblog welcome to S.M. James!
S.M. James is an author of YA romance, who unapologetically dishes out happily ever afters for LGBT+ characters. When not writing, S.M. survives on a sustainable diet of coffee and chocolate, while watching absolute trash TV. Her latest book, NOT GONNA LIE, is the seventh in The #lovehim Series and I’m super excited to have her here during Pride Month!

Everyone has their secrets.
Last year Digi walked out on Webcon, on his fans, and on Gram.
Now he’s back determined to give what they had a real shot, but Gram is more prickly than ever, not willing to risk his heart again.
Despite trying to stay out of the spotlight, the anonymous Public Service Announcements draw Digi back in. As the secrets of the internet’s top celebrities are leaked to the world, it’s only a matter of time before Digi and Gram are next.
To get through it, they have to set their rivalry aside.
Will Digi handle the pressure of the bright lights long enough to find who is tearing their world apart? Or will the threat of full exposure be too much for him to handle?

Now for the fun stuff!
What’s your favorite genre? Do you read what you write?
My favourite genre is YA contemporary (which is what I write) especially if it features diverse MCs. I want all of the wonderful multifaceted characters.
I’m so glad more and more books have diverse characters — they actually represent real life!
What’s your favorite part about writing?
If I don’t write, I get a little … unstable. Hah. So staying relatively level-headed is a great benefit. That said, when I’m in the middle of a book, I’m convinced I hate writing, I’m terrible at it, and I’ll never write another book again. Then I finish that book and itch to start the next one.
I can definitely relate to doubting myself while writing. But those highs make it all worthwhile.
What’s the hardest part of writing for you?
Emotions. I’m blasé AF in real life, so when it comes to writing some seriously deep sh!t, I cringe hard. Not so great when you write romance.
I admire you tackling a subject that doesn’t come as easily.
What’s an activity unrelated to writing that you love?
There’s a life outside of writing?
🙂
Who’s your biggest cheerleader?
My sister-in-law and cover designer Rebecca Bosevski. She’s been there with me since the beginning and without her, I’d still be writing my first book.
And your covers are amazing! I love that you have custom artwork!
Now I’d like to play a fun little game called This or That. As a writer, I find that a lot of interviews ask the same questions, so I always appreciate sharing something new about myself. I’m super excited about these questions—and I hope you enjoy them!
Introvert or extrovert? Introvert, but most people think I’m an extrovert because if we’re friends, I’ll talk non stop.
Morning or night person? Morning.
Coffee or tea? Coffee.
Sweet or salty? Salty AF.
Eternal summer or four seasons? Four seasons.
Mountains or beach? Mountains (though I’d prefer to say neither. Outdoors? Yuck.)
Dogs or cats? Cats.
Over 5’5” or under? Waaaay under.
Left or right-handed? Right.
Hoodie or yoga pants? Hoodie.
I’ve learned that about some of my introvert friends. 🙂
S.M., thank you so much for spending this time with me and my readers. Readers, you can find S.M. at these links—and be sure to check out Not Gonna Lie and the entire #lovehim Series!
