Please help me give a big Hoosblog welcome to Victoria Anders!
Book designer by day and writer by night, Victoria Anders lives in the world of books. And she feels extremely blessed with that! Originally from Atlanta, this Georgia peach now lives in the land of sunshine and barely a winter just north of Tampa, Florida.
Thanks to her daughter’s escapades in high school (and maybe her own), Victoria loves bringing you tales on the inner workings of the teenage mind. No fantasy or science fiction here. She brings you nothing but contemporary, realistic stories about kids growing up and discovering who they are. Oh, and yeah, there’s always a little bit of love thrown in from every angle.
Tell us about your book!
Stop My Bleeding Heart is an upper YA contemporary fairytale retelling loosely inspired by Snow White and comes with a retelling twist. It’s part of the Once Upon a Heartbreak series. Releasing on June 22nd!

Heartbreak is all I know. And my heart bleeds because of it.
On my eighteenth birthday, my stepmother kicks me out and my boyfriend dumps me.
As an orphan and now homeless, my heart is out of blood, but somehow, it keeps on bleeding.
Forced to move in with my aunt and her home of foster kids, I find myself the only girl in a home with seven boys.
Who will be my prince charming to stop my bleeding heart?

Now for the fun stuff!
What’s your favorite genre? Do you read what you write?
Romance! Mainly, YA. I read what I write. I’m forever reliving the lives of teens.
SAME.
What’s your favorite part about writing?
Getting these stories out of my head! Every since I can remember, I’ve been creating these characters and stories in my brain. Putting them down on paper is deeply gratifying. Bringing them to life. Just don’t tell me they’re not real and we’ll be just fine.
I still think back on my past books — I care about my characters so much!
What’s the hardest part of writing for you?
Time. Writing isn’t my full-time gig. I have so many stories to write and I just don’t know if I’ll ever get to them all. Can someone invent a time machine that stops time for me? I’d seriously take a couple of years to get them down and restart time. But then, I’d have more stories that demand attention and I’d have to stop time again. I’d live in a state of stopped time with just me, myself, and I. I don’t see anything wrong with that!
Time is something I struggle with as well. When will I write all the stories?!
What’s an activity unrelated to writing that you love?
Crafting. Although I find myself lacking time to enjoy it like I was did. So for now, I’m a craft hoarder. Jewelry, scrapbooking (does anyone still do that? I would if I had time!), polymer clay, sewing.
I love that you keep busy with things you do with your hands. I’m the same way!
Who’s your biggest cheerleader?
My friends and family.

Now I’d like to play a fun little game called This or That. As a writer, I find that a lot of interviews ask the same questions, so I always appreciate sharing something new about myself. I’m super excited about these questions—and I hope you enjoy them!
Introvert or extrovert? Introvert
Morning or night person? Night owl
Coffee or tea? Bulletproof coffee only (I didn’t start drinking coffee until 3 years ago) unless it’s sweet tea from Chick-Fil-A
Sweet or salty? This is a tough one. So both!
Eternal summer or four seasons? Eternal summer (why else would I live in Florida!)
Mountains or beach? Beach (again, Florida)
Dogs or cats? DOGS.
Over 5’5” or under? Over
Left or right-handed? Right
Hoodie or yoga pants? Yoga, all day every day
I’ve heard about Bulletproof coffee but haven’t tried it yet. You may have convinced me…
Anything else you’d like to add?
Thank you!
