S.M. James is an author of YA romance, who unapologetically dishes out happily ever afters for LGBT+ characters. When not writing, SM survives on a sustainable diet of coffee and chocolate, while watching absolute trash TV. Her latest book, Not Gonna Lie, is the SEVENTH in a series and I’m super excited to have her here during Pride Month!

Yesenia Vargas is the author of several sweet young adult romance books. Her love for writing stories was born from her love of reading and books. She has her third grade teacher to thank for that. Getting to Know My MC
The more novels I write, the more I learn about myself as a writer. My process has become more fine-tuned, I recognize when I’m going to get frustrated and start to question why I ever wanted to write in the first place (right about the 30k word mark), and I’m slowly weeding out my crutch words. But there’s one thing that is always new, and that’s the intricate dance of how I get to know my characters.
Why You’ll Love The Trail Rules
As writers, it sometimes feels weird to tell people WHY they’ll love our book. Sure, we spend hours telling readers ABOUT our books, but it’s easier to leave the accolades to reviewers and other writers. That said, I do think you’ll love The Trail Rules, and here’s why.
The Art of Taking Chances
I have big news! I’m in a YA romance anthology that comes out at the end of this month!! Aside from the trashy stories I wrote in middle school, I’d never written a proper short story, and I’m very happy with how it turned out. There are EIGHT other stories in the anthology, and best of all — the anthology will be free!
